Seeing is believing and purchasing with video marketing

“When it comes to getting your company message to potential customers and clients, Video Marketing is a sure bet. And, this is not just hype. The facts are simple, video marketing offers benefits and advantages that other forms of marketing media simply cannot provide. This makes video marketing both efficient as well as powerful in terms of helping your company get your message out to the masses.”
~ Birdie Maule
                                       What is video marketing?

In today’s high-tech, hyper-connected world, any size business can use market videos to reach a large target audience of potential customers, at minimal cost. The basic definition of video marketing is using a combination of video components such as visuals, text, and audio to convey a company’s brand message to its viewers. Like a traditional commercial on television, your marketing video should advertise the advantages of your product or service to potential customers. These videos can be distributed (for free!) to your target audience through solo ads via email, search engine marketing, social media pages, and video sharing sites. The real marketing aspect comes into play when the video content is optimized for search engine ranking and distributed online to sites such as YouTube and Vimeo. High Search Engine Optimization (SEO) rankings make it easy for millions of potential customers to find your video, and eventually be funneled toward your company and the product or service you are selling.

What makes an effective marketing video?

The foundation of successful online video marketing is not professional production or great acting. In fact, marketing videos should never be long or complex. A simple 60-second video with the right keywords or phrases in the description or related content can boost your company’s SEO rankings and be a powerful and cost-effective marketing tool, significantly increasing web traffic to your sales funnel. Effective videos target a specific audience, and contain a “call to action,” for viewers to do something after watching (such as share the video, contact a representative, or click on a product link). If your company has a recognizable logo (it should!), that logo should be prominently displayed during the video, and the company (or product) name should be repeated several times, especially at the end. An active link or contact information should be one of the last things your video audience sees and/or hears. Also, people should want to share your video, so make it interesting and sharable by adding humor, a great sound track, and a variety of shots and perspectives.

I would have to agree with you that I would want to contact a company, or at least want to look them up, if I found their video humorous and entertaining. I think the best television commercials are those that stick in your head and have you repeating them. The same holds true for video marketing...make it funny or memorable and you will have better success.

Crystal,
I think television ads are the most effective. After seeing a company's' commercial on television, I automatically take them more serious. I guess I assume them to be more legitimate if they broadcast themselves on television.

I agree with you. Whenever I see one of those videos I almost always do a Google search for them or head right over to their website to research them some more. This is a great blog post thanks

I agree with you Joe! The one that I really like lately are the State Farm commercials. Even though I know State Farm has been around forever, I find their current commercials really funny and often quote them...'Can I get a hot tub?!' hahahahaha
